I like to work with and draw inspiration from the human body. I am asking the viewer to challenge their perceptions of what is beautiful, also does it make a difference whether one uses ones own body or that of a model?

My current work confronts society’s view of women and ‘The Body Beautiful’ and drawing on my own personal feelings post enforced surgery and childbirth; I have produced delicate porcelain vessels from bellies and breasts, which question the way that women view themselves.

I enjoy the playfulness of these pieces, alongside the more sombre context of society’s warped views on body image. I want to show through beautiful delicate forms that we are all beautiful shapes and it is only society’s perceived constraints and our own self-perception that changes how others view us.
